By making a donation today, you'll be ensuring our neighbors on Cape Cod and the Islands have access to safe, stable housing. You can make a difference!
Patrick Wendell doing the Virtual Walk for Hope on June 27th supporting Housing Assistance Corp and LOCALiQ is thrilled to be involved and support. Unemployment locally is at an all time high, and Cape Cod has the highest unemployment rate in the state!. Locally we have been hit hard by COVID-19 and it has severely affected our fragile tourism and hospitality focused economy.
Housing insecurity is one of the biggest issues for our neighbors. Falling behind on mortgages or rent because you somehow don't qualify for expanded unemployment, or the fact that $1,200 just wasn't enough, is a real issue for many on Cape Cod. We see this every day, through the businesses we work with talking about their employees, our friends, and their friends and family.
Patrick broke his ankle in March, and it has been a painful recovery! But that is nothing compared with the pain of losing a roof over your head, or even the prospect of that. That is why he and LOCALiQ are taking part in the Walk for Hope on Saturday, June 27th. We are asking you to sponsor Patrick in whatever way you can, whether it be good wishes, or a monetary donation to HAC.
We’re excited to announce this year’s Walk for HOPE is going virtual which means anyone, anywhere can participate by walking in their own neighborhoods and connecting with our caring community via social media posts.
Join us on Saturday, June 27 at 2 PM as we take steps individually to support our neighbors in need during these trying times of social distancing.
Last year’s Walk for Hope raised awareness and more than $14,000 for people struggling to stay housed. Help us surpass that total by donating to my walk fundraiser. You can make every step count for a great cause!
