JULY 15th - LEIOMYOSARCOMA AWARENESS DAY
Leiomyosarcoma (LMS) is a very rare and aggressive sarcoma. It's estimated to occur in 10 people out of 1 million. It can look like a lump under the skin, a common uterine fibroid or there can be no signs at all if located internally. LMS starts in the smooth (involuntary) muscles but spreads quickly to other organs. We don't know what causes LMS. Because it is so rare, there is little research attention on LMS.
Our foundation, Leiomyosarcoma Support & Direct Research (LMSDR), is dedicated to raising money for LMS research. We advocate for treatments which will work. Please visit our website www.LMSDR.org to see our past research grants and accomplishments. We are an ALL VOLUNTEER organization with no overhead... so your donation will benefit research as much as possible.
We are working, not wishing... for the cure!
