Literacy Movement 4 More believes that Black. Lives. Matter.
We are outraged by the senseless murders of George Flord, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and countless others. Oppressors must be held accountable, action must be taken, and change must be made. Ignorance is not an option. We stand in solidarity with all those fighting against the systematic oppression, racism, and police brutality that has ravaged the Black community.
Literacy Movement 4 More was founded as a way to connect with our Indian-American identities, and to pass on the values that our immigrant parents taught us. Today, we want to embody those values. As a non-profit built on the notion that everyone deserves the dignity and respect that can be granted by an education, we have chosen to be a part of the change.
So, we are using our voice and resources to raise $2,500 for the Young Black Leadership Alliance.
YBLA is a national nonprofit dedicated to developing young black leaders to have a positive impact in their community and beyond by facilitating college, career, and mentorship readiness. The young voices of today are the changemakers of tomorrow; education is a powerful tool to help realize that future. Through educational and leadership development, YBLA cultivates the hope that black youth can make tomorrow a better version of today. That is something we resolve to stand by and be a part of.
Help YBLA propel young black leaders to the forefront of action by donating today.
