Alex's generous & nurturing soul loved anything related to the outdoors - gardening, birding, fishing, & paddling, just to name a few. Alex's great care for family, friends, flora, fauna, & anyone that crossed his path was evident in all that he did. He had an easy smile & incredibly positive daily outlook.
Alex was diagnosed with B-Cell Lymphoma in late 2008. Through treatment, the cancer thankfully went into remission, allowing him to lead a full, experiential life. In 2018, Alex was diagnosed with recurrent B-Cell Lymphoma, as well as Follicular Lymphoma & began treatment.
Alex's care & treatment was through the Veteran's Adminsitration & University of Pennsylvania health care systems. The immunotherapy he received was possible through the research support of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Equally important was the compassionate & informative outreach that Alex & our family received from the Leukemia & Lymphoma society: patient information sessions, medication facts, & webinar learning experiences.
Alex's care, combined with his great strength & optimism carried him through until he passed peacefully on July 13, 2019. In loving memory, we hope that you will join us in supporting the continued research & programs of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. We are hopeful that there will one day be a cure.
