Food is never so important than during a Coronavirus pandemic! Living Hope is a group of diverse volunteers who have volunteered for 25 years to give breakfast to the homeless on Sunday morning in downtown Portland, Oregon. 500 people stand in line for a plate of hash browns, French toast and some fruit, hot chocolate or coffee. Thankfulness exudes from the homeless as well as from this group volunteers when the truck works, when a few dollars comes in to buy the food, and when the fire heats up the stoves. But the truck is on its last trek, the food supply is short especially now, and the equipment is outdated and needs replacing. The Walters Family Foundation is ready to help, but needs your help to raise funds for a food truck replacement. And for the first time, the hiring of a social worker will be added to help those who are ready to leave the street for a new life. This person will assist teenagers, adults, and/or couples to find resources in Portland where hope exists for a new life. We need $38,000 to keep this small organization going so many people can receive food and an opportunity to become self-sufficient! Through food, Living Hope has become a Door to the Street! Giving Tuesday is coming! You ready to help? Watch for us on Giving Tuesday next week, or you can donate now on our website: www.waltersfamilyfoundation.org! All of the funds will be used for Living Hope without any going to any overhead! Thanks for helping us reach our goal by Tuesday! Be safe! See us at: www.waltersfamilyfoundation.org.
