Living Classrooms is a not-for-profit organization, which has used its platform to promote the educational development of children, youth, and adults in Baltimore City over the past 30 years. Recognizing that a quality education “helps our community become safer, stronger, and healthier by meeting individuals where they are and building skills for life,” Living Classrooms was incidentally founded to provide a service that Baltimore City has been unable to provide its citizens.
Johns Hopkins Carey Business School prides itself on the mottos "Building for What's Next" and "Business with Humanity in Mind." The school and its main benefactor, W.P. Carey, have a deep history in supporting underpriveleged communities and educational initiatives. "Experiences in Leadership" is a class at Carey Business School that provides students with analytical frameworks to help them understand behavior in organizations, along with the practical experience to put that understanding into action. Our team of five MBA students chose Living Classrooms for our fundraising initiative because the organization aligns with many of our values as a school and as individuals.
Aware of the educational deficiencies provided by the Baltimore City School system, our team has decided to dedicate our fundraising project to help Living Classrooms secure financial support for the various programs it operates. These programs are an invaluable resource that makes up for the lack of educational programs provided by the government, and they are necessary to ensure that our children, youth, and adults develop to make our community reach its full potential.
Please donate as much as you can by 11:59 pm on February 26.
