Thank you for your interest in The Little Van Loan House, the 36th oldest structure in New York State. There’s a lot happening in our village of Athens and we’re excited to continue the process of helping to restore this small gem to serve as an asset to our community.
Like the Thomas Cole House before us, The Friends of the Van Loan House is a group of dedicated local folks who have started the restoration of the Van Loan House under the umbrella of the Greene County Historic Society with hopes of establishing this important and early house as a stand alone non profit.
To continue this work, which is very important to us, we are seeking to raise $10,000 for the first phase of restoration. The all in budget for the full restoration is achievable at around $75,000. We plan to reach out to different foundations and apply to various grants, which can provide additional support, but those organizations want to see us demonstrate broad community support, so we’re looking to you to help us. Please consider a tax-deductible donation of $50, $100 or even more to help us reach our goal.
Thanks so much for your friendship and support.
