SUPPORT EQUAL ACCESS TO EARLY LITERACY
Literacy Access Fund is a public charity that raises funds to provide every child with equal access to early literacy resources in the public library. We turn our attention to support the most underachieving, underfunded, yet dynamic communities.
ACCESS: GRANTED is Literacy Access Fund’s advocacy and crowdfunding campaign focusing on literacy access for young learners. We are asking you to join this effort and donate towards our goal of $25,000 to gift to underfunded public libraries. When you donate to ACCESS: GRANTED, we can provide libraries with 25,000 REASONS for access to literacy that could change the lives of 25,000 young learners.
As children are regularly denied equal access to literacy resources, we only need to look to underachieving urban school districts around the country like Cleveland, Baltimore, and Dallas to discover how this impacts their young learners. According to the National Assessment of Educational Progress (2017), an average of only 13% of 4th grade students in these three cities tested at or above Proficiency in reading. We can do better!
Literacy Access Fund champions access and innovation to redefine the way we see libraries and literacy in the 21st century. With your help, we can grant every child access to literacy in the most deserving public libraries.
