Lineage Ride 2019
“Honoring Our Past, Protecting Our Future”
Honor someone in your "lineage", that has contributed to who you are today.
Protecting Our Future: Raise needed funds to support Able Nation's mission of providing training and equipment to protect our nation's children from Active Threats in our churches and schools.
Please prayerfully consider supporting me as I ride in honor of my dad, Ray Klein.
This summer I will travel the American Northwest on a 2-week mission with a team lead by U.S. Navy SEALs, and joined by fellow protectors. Though we will see some of the most beautiful scenery that our nation has to offer, and meet amazing people along the way, traveling through 9 states and nearly 4000 miles, we will be working to support a cause greater than ourselves. We will be raising funds to protect schools, churches and civic groups from the growing threats of violence becoming more common every day.
I‘m riding to honor my father, Ray Klein. Dad served in the Navy in 2 wars, World War II, and the Korean war. He married my mom, Delores, a widow with one son, my brother Dave, and raised him as his own son. I came along about 4 years later. Mom and us boys were Dad's world. He made me the man I am today, modeling a hard work ethic, a loving husband and father, a provider, a protector. If someone was giving one of his boys a hard time, dad was like a bear protecting his cubs. He built us a cabin, taught us to fish, to work with our hands, and ride motorcycles. He made sure to tell us he loved us all the time, because his dad didn't say that to him growing up. Everyone in town knew dad, many of those he had helped whenever they needed it. He modeled what a man should be. So on this ride Dad's my wingman.
I am also riding for a fallen hero. Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods. You may be familiar him because of the movie "13 Hours". Tyrone (Rone) Woods was one of the two GRS Operators killed by a mortar in the attack on the American diplomatic compound in Benghazi on Sept. 11th, 2012. I first saw the movie and later started training at the Active Shooter Response Training Center in Centennial, Colorado under Jimmy Graham, the Founder, lead instructor, and the Lineage Ride leader.
Jimmy, a retired Navy Seal and former GRS Operator himself, was the team leader for the Benghazi team. Just weeks before the attack, Jimmy cycled out. Tyrone, Jimmy's friend and assistant team leader, took over as team lead and was killed in action just 3 weeks later. Tyrone's story is personal to me because of my training and friendship with Jimmy Graham, and because that movie was one of the reasons I decided to become a protector and started training for active shooter events. Tyrone was a Navy Seal, Senior Chief Petty Officer, GRS Operator, medical corpsman and parmedic on SEAL teams 1, 3, and 5, was also a board certified RN. He served multiple tours of duty in Somalia, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star among other awards, as well as the Congressional Gold Medal awarded posthumously. His dedication to country and community exemplifies what Able Nation is all about.
I am proud to ride in honor of my Dad and Rone, and to raise funds for Able Nation in doing so. Able Nation came out of the need to protect our children, our schools, churches, and civic groups from the escalating crimes of violence that fill the news almost every day. I thank you ahead of time for supporting me in this very important fund-raising event. 100% of your donation is tax deductible as Able Nation is a 501(c)3.
Our mission is two-fold:
1.) Honoring Our Past: We are taking this opportunity to honor someone in our line (lineage) that contributed to who we are today.
2.) Protecting Our Future: Our Nation’s children are being targeted. “Someone should do something”, that someone, is you. Able Nation is a 501(c)3 that provides the most efficient training and safety products to schools, churches, and civic groups nationwide. Join me in supporting their efforts to realistically protect children and potentially save lives.
Able Nation has taken the first steps in providing hands-on training, emergency medical supplies, and validated security products nation-wide. Please join me in supporting their reach. Your financial donation of any amount could help save a life. Together we can make a difference. Thank you.
