On Saturday, May 11, 2019 I will be running the Bridgehampton Half Marathon. I will be running it in honor of one of our closest family friends, Linda Kellner, who is my mentor, friend, fellow educator and true champion! Throughout my life and, most recently, in my professional life, Linda has always been the cheerleader in my corner pushing me to success. This is especially true in my most recent endeavor as an elementary school principal. I am forever grateful to her for her confidence in me and her ongoing support in all aspects of my life.
Linda is a fighter; in every sense of the word. It has been a long road since she was diagnosed with breast cancer several years ago. Currently, Linda has metastatic breast cancer, which has spread to her liver, spine and bones. The organization Making Strides doesn't fully support research about metastatic breast cancer because the outcome is typically so dire. There are other organizations that, like Linda, refuse to give up the fight that are used for metastatic breast cancer research, since the outcome is not promising. However, I have seen the fight in our dear friend thus far, and I know she has many years of fight left in her.
I am asking for any donation toward my 13.1-mile run be made to Metavivor Research and Supportin honor of my friend, my mentor, my champion, Linda Kellner.
