"Did you know that eating disorders is as deadly as breast cancer (about 10% afflicted die in each)? However, eating disorders only receives about 1/25th of the money for research and treatment from the National Institutes of Health!
As a breast cancer survivor, I am grateful for the awareness and advances made in this field but as a psychologist who has dedicated the last 30 years to treating people with eating disorders, I am dismayed by the lack of attention this disorder receives.
This year, I am one of the competitors in the Celebrity Dance Challenge, the annual fundraiser for EDIN. Although I am not a dancer, I am compelled to help this amazing organization which works to bring attention to this devastating disorder through education, awareness and early intervention.
Every one of your dollars is going straight to this worthwhile cause. Each dollar donated below is equal to one vote for me. Thank you so much for your support!"
