This Little Light Africa is raising money that will empower underserved communities of Northern Nigeria & Africa through increased access to solar power and vastly improved educational resources.
Here is an idea of the vital benefit your donation will bring to the 350,000+ lives in the city of Makurdi in the Sahel region of northern Nigeria. The cost of each item pales in comparison to the sustained value each brings to the members of these communities. Our partnership with those in Nigeria will provide:
Power and Light
We want to bring sustained sources of power and light to 2000 rural families, most of whom live with limited or no power.
$15 provides a family with a solar generator and panel to power a home for 6-8 hours at a time, providing safety at night, light for homework, and power for work.
We hope to bring critical structural improvements to a number of schools and a new roof on a primary school in Makurdi, Nigeria. We also aim to give the students of these underfunded and dilapidated schools brand new supplies that they have never enjoyed before.
$30 pays for one K-6 student’s tuition (one month), uniform and shoes, supplies and schoolbooks
$25 buys a new desk and chair for a student. Right now, they are using cinderblocks.
$120 covers tuition (one month), uniform and shoes, supplies and schoolbooks for four students
$500 will provide desks and chairs for an entire class

Light and power, and improved education, can and will change the trajectory of over 350,000 lives in one community in Northern Nigeria. Your support can go a long way to making this a reality. Thank you for considering joining us in this noble venture.
