I started rowing in the sixth grade and, back then, it was only a hobby, something to do on the weekends. But since then, rowing has grown to more than just a hobby, it became a way of life. To quote one of my coaches, "You get out what you put in." And after three years of rowing on the weekends and in the summer, I find that statement becoming a part of my life, a motto to keep with me.
Being on the team and working hard every day helps to build character through tenacity, teamwork, discipline, perservance, and drive. People that hold these values are future leaders and innovaters, able to realize their dreams and change the world. Through rowing I have been shaped into a better person. I learned to set goals to keep me motivated and on track. I learned how to manage my time effectively. With your generous donation, my team and I can continue to have this amazing experince. Your donations will help raise money to buy new boats and new equipment so that our team can reach new heights and continue to compete at the elite level.
