On February 22nd, 2020, Ruby Mabanta passed away after a hard-fought battle with Lung Cancer. No matter where she was in her battle, she ALWAYS kept hope for herself and her family alive, never showing an ounce of struggle. Her lifetime of devotion to her family resulted in a driving force that allows our family to stay devoted to each other now. She is a model for displaying strength and grace in the face of concretely insurmountable odds. I want to honor that strength and grace by completing the first 24 hours of the David Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge in her name, and raising donations/funding for the American Cancer Society and Lung Cancer Research Foundation. Join me in reaching this modest goal of $250, and we can make a small dent in a disease that claims the lives of over 140,000 Americans each year.
The David Goggins 4x4x48 Challenge is an athletic endurance challenge where participants run 4 miles, every 4 hours, for 48 hours. I'll be running on the East End of the National Mall for most of the day. If you want to stop by, or run a leg with me, stop on by an we'll run together for something good. You can reach me at email@example.com, or my cell (443-717-1539)!
