Green Forest High School senior Devon Wethern was airlifted to Springfield after a traffic accident June 16 -- and underwent a six and a half hour operation that kept doctors from having to amputate his leg. You probably know him as the overnight guy at Hatman's One Stop.
A leader at Alpena's First Baptist Church, Devon led the group of Tiger students that raised funds to plant a red maple at the city park in memory of classmate Jeremiah “Red” Wagner two years ago.
Can you help this young Tiger? His pickup truck was totaled in the head-on crash on U.S. 62 between Green Forest and Harrison as he headed home from work. He's got a month and a half before his Class of 2020 commencement July 25th in Tiger Stadium.
All funds will be overseen by the Carroll County Resource Council board of directors. Donations can also be made at Hatman's One-Stop and at any Cornerstone Bank branch office.
