In 2019 TFFJ students will launch a student-led farm market that will sell produce affordably within the local community, adding another source of fresh hyper-local nutritious food in the Bronx, where over where over 29 percent of families are faced with food insecurity.
The TFFJ expereince is multifold:
-Nourishing minds through hands-on sustainability and STEM education
-Nourishing bodies through immersive nutrition and wellness programming
-Nourishing communities through supplying fresh produce to their school cafeterias and their communities, and advocating for healthy food access, and empowering others to raise their voices for change.
Here is what your support makes a possible:
$500 purchases a month's worth of seeds and farm supplies, which produces 2,000 pounds of produce.
$250 sponsors one youth-led food justice and leadership conference that unites all TFFJ sites for students to share knowledge and develop their advocacy skills to work for better futures in their respective communities.
$100 buys all necessary supplies and equipment for a cooking demo, wherein students receive hands-on learning in nutrition, healthy food preparation, and how to use what they produce in their own home.
$50 Purchases one week's worth of nutritious snacks for TFFJ afterschool programming at two sites
