Geaux Girl! is a nonprofit print and online magazine created for and with New Orleans teen girls to INFORM, INSPIRE, ENGAGE, and EMPOWER.
We have been filling a void in the New Orleans community for almost two years now. Thanks to our magazine, girls in New Orleans....
· have access to the reproductive health information they need;
· learn that talking about mental health is normal, not shameful;
· are being surrounded by a community that cares about them;
· are made feel loved and appreciated; and
· are given opportunities to express their creativity, make their voices heard, and connect with different girls from across the city.
Girls, parents, and educators keep telling us how special and needed Geaux Girl! is and we want to bring our empowering content to as many girls as possible. We need your help to advance and expand our digital presence!
Our awesome new online magazine has been in the works for some time and is slated to replace our current website, which was designed as a placeholder until we have the resources to create something “real.” We are hoping to launch with the beginning of the new year but need support to cover our web design expenses. This is why today we are kicking off our “Let’s geaux live!” end-of-year campaign!
The new online magazine will allow us to reach many, many more girls, make it easier for girls to submit their writing and visual art, enable us to create more engaging and interactive experiences, and make it possible for us to track our impact. In other words, we need our new website to grow and be sustainable.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 by December 31st, 2019 to launch our new website. These funds will allow us to elevate our online presence to the level of appeal and sophistication that our print magazine is already known for. Your contribution will help make the new website possible and allow us to do better what we do best: inform, inspire, engage, and empower New Orleans girls.
As a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we cannot keep Geaux Girl! alive and well without generous members in the New Orleans community. We hope you will consider making a gift today towards our “Let’s geaux live!” end-of-year giving campaign so we can launch our online magazine and hit 2020 running.
