Each year, only 3% of detained immigrants in New York have lawyers, which makes legal representation vital for a fair trial. In operation since 1982, NMCIR has been committed to educate, defend and protect the rights of immigrants by expanding access to legal immigration services.
To support the work that NMCIR is doing, I am hosting a Southern dinner as a fundraiser for the Northern Manhattan Coalition for Immigrant Rights (NMCIR) on Sunday, August 26th at 6:00 pm.
The menu for the evening will be:
Salmon Patties*
Collard Greens*
Mac & Cheese
Banana Pudding
*We will have vegetarian options available upon request
The suggested ticket donation is $15.00 but anything you are able to give is welcomed and will be appreciated. It's not only about the donation, it's also about the fellowship!
If you are interested in attending please, get your ticket here. Also, friends of friends are welcomed to come! If you are unable to make it but would love to give, I thank you for your support!
I am a firm believer that small acts can make a big difference. If you are interested in hosting your own dinner or partnering up with friends to help make a fundraising meal for a non-profit of your choice, let me know because I would love to attend.
In solidarity,
Ashley Causey-Golden
