Donate here to participate in the Walk-A-Thon (via LESGC Angel Alliance member Rachel Roderman)!

Join me at the Lower Eastside Girls Club’s 11th Annual Walk-A-Thon and Block Party for Girls and Women’s Health to supports wellness programming they provide for over 1,000 low-income girls and young women in the Lower East Side community each year.

These programs include yoga, modern and Step dance classes, a running club, meditation workshops, healthy cooking and nutrition classes and a daily plant-based meal before every class. All at no cost to their members!

(Spoiler alert) Coming in 2020, LESGC will be expanding our wellness programs, opening a Center for Wellbeing and Happiness on Avenue D. Learn more about the center here: https://www.girlsclub.org/new-initiatives/center-for-wellbeing-and-happiness/

I’m so proud to be on the Angel Alliance Junior Board for this organization and am so excited for you to get on my team to support this community!

WALK-A-THON

Teams gather outside the Lower Eastside Girls Club at 10:30 AM to register for the walk. At 11:15 AM, the Brooklyn Express Drumline Marching Band will kick-off and lead us in a parade winding through the parks and streets of the East Village. When you join my Walk-A-Thon team, you’re dedicated to raising $100 minimum.

HEALTH FAIR & BLOCK PARTY

Following the Walk-A-Thon, everyone will be welcomed back to 8th street for an old school block party! While our community partners and sponsors table at the Health and Wellness fair, our very own Avenue DJs will be mixing and performing live music to keep the celebration going! We’ll offer games, wellness activities, and more.

Why am I donating?

Your $100 donation supports one week of wellness activities held year-round at the Girls Club for one member. These free programs include Run Club, step and dance classes and plant-based meals, six days a week.

The Girls Club relies on donations from supporters like you. We operate robust, year-round, innovative programs for underserved young women of color. Every dollar we raise helps us bring real joy, power and possibility to our incredible members.
