Five years ago today, we lost our pal Brandon Lepow to cancer. His passing remains a painful impossiblity - but his call for us to celebrate simply joys and the fellowship around us has never felt stronger or more prescient.
In celebration of his life, I thought we could muster a call-to-action to help Brian and Sandra close this gap and give Brian a shot at an innovative and potentially ground-breaking treatment.
Brian, Sandra, and Brandon were all early Obama White House staffers - with Lepow and Sandra sharing time in the White House Communications Office, and more than a few walk-and-talks down the long, marble hallways of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.
No doubt, if he were with us today, Brandon would be a tireless champion for this family's determination to win; not just their own fight with ALS - but to help wipe it off the face of the planet, for good.
