November is National Diabetes Awareness Month so in honor of that we will be doing a 5k walk/run on November 1st at 8am. Our goal is to to help raise $2,500 for the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi!
As some of you know my niece Londen Lynn was diagnosed Type 1 diabetic October 2018 just shy of her 10th birthday. She went to the doctor for what we thought was a UTI or possibly a stomach bug. The doctor proceeded to check her out, testing her blood sugar which was over 500 and she was immediately taken to University of Alabama Women and Children’s Hospital. There they monitored her and got her blood sugar to a safe level. After spending several days in the hospital our Londen Lynn came home and we all had a “NEW” normal! We all had to educate ourselves and learn how to keep her at a healthy blood sugar. To look back and think we could have had a different outcome that day terrifies me. She is so energetic and full of life. She does self taught gymnastics ALL over the house. She is just like any other 12 year old these days except she wears a pump for her insulin.
Please join us in raising money to support diabetes awareness.
The location is to be determined and I will post a link for an event on Facebook!
