Our hearts are with the victims’ families and friends with this senseless shooting at a local bar in Thousand Oaks. This sadly hits very close to home as I live in Thousand Oaks, CA (one of the safest cities in America) and sadly are close to those affected by this tragedy.
I created “LemonAID for Disaster Relief” a year ago with my kids as a way for children of all ages, their families, and their friends to help make a difference - one "LemonAID" stand at a time...... Since then with the help of the local Thousand Oaks/Westlake Village community we have raised with our kids over $10,000 for both natural disasters and senseless shootings.
Well now I am hoping that phrase “Pay It Forward” will actually come to life. The community that volunteered time and $ over the past year now needs your help. Please donate to help the victims families and our local community. I may have very few followers and be a boring mom (as my two boys seems to think), but I will never stop making a difference.
LemonAID's Mission is 2 Simple Goals:
1. To teach our children the importance of empathy, generosity, kindness and compassion by reaching out to others in their time of tremendous need. LemonAID gives kids a fun way to make a difference and feel a part of something even bigger than they are.
2. To help those in need by empowering our future leaders of all ages, their families and their friends to turn a feeling of helplessness into a feeling of empowerment. We are all human and simply reaching out to lend a helping hand to someone in need is the easiest and most immediate way to make a difference in someone's life.
Sorry for grammatical errors and misspellings. I am a little shaken up. Thanks.
