Valley Providence Little League has major flooding issues at our County park’s baseball fields due to a grading problem. Because of standing water after rainfall, practices and games are almost always delayed or cancelled unlike other leagues in Northern Nevada.
Coaches + volunteers dug trenches and pumped water away from the playing fields & walkways in order to get the fields to a useable condition.
We need equipment to remove existing lake bed mud and new ground materials are needed in order to avoid future flooding, so surveying is required for proper grading and drainage.
We need to collect enough funds to finish the parking lot so it’s safer for kids to get to the fields. There are no walkways or wheelchair access, so concrete paths are needed from parking to the stands and dugouts in order to make the park ADA compliant.
The league has been here since 1973 and is slowly deteriorating over the years because of issues at the park. Valley Providence is non-profit, so families have always dealt with these issues but cannot continue without these improvements. We need your support in order to save our organization!
“Little League provides healthy activity for children using the ball field as a classroom to instill discipline, team work, sportsmanship and fair play, and to establish a set of values to guide them into adulthood.”
