More than ever / Más que nunca
Immigrant Rights Action/Grupo de Acción of Doylestown provides immediate support to individuals who are detained or threatened with deportation, including both recently-arrived asylum-seekers and long-term undocumented residents of Bucks County. As we await future changes in immigration policy promised by the incoming administration, we're painfully aware that the need for financial assistance with new and ongoing cases is more urgent than ever right now in the context of COVID-19, which has impacted the immigrant community disproportionately both economically and physically.
Since 2017, our 100% crowd-sourced legal defense fund has supported more than 100 separate legal immigration cases, distributing over $50,000 in financial assistance to neighbors in Bensalem, Bristol, Buckingham, Croydon, Doylestown, Dublin, Levittown, Perkasie, Pipersville, Plumsteadville, Quakertown, Sellersville, Southampton, Telford, Warminster and Warrington.
Our grants typically provide $500 in assistance. These distributions can help families quickly retain a reputable immigration attorney, or make a monthly payment in an ongoing proceeding. We don't want any of our neighbors to have to choose between their legal immigration cases and paying the rent or putting food on the table.
All donations received on this page go directly to our Legal Defense Fund. Please help us meet our ambitious $20,000 annual goal -- sufficient funds to provide assistance in 40 legal immigration cases.
We know we can do it with your help -- if you will make a (tax-deductible) contribution, and also share our cause within your network using the buttons on this page. Thank you for your support.
