One year ago, my longest run ever dated back to 2007 where I ran my first and only 10 miler race. Fastforward until December 2017 when life as we knew it changed forever. Our dear friend (basically family member) Jason Kilderry passed away from a short, but extremely brave and strong, fight against cancer. As a way of healing and coping with his passing, running became my new hobby - which I have to thank Jason for. Everyone who knew him knew his love for endurance sports. I have met incredible people (now, friends) through his diagnosis and passing. These people are inspiring and challenge me, both as a person, but also as an athlete. Of course, if it weren't for Jason's diagnosis, I would not be running this race. I would like to run this in his honor and memory, while at the same time, raising money for a cure for cancer. In addition, I will also run for my father's memory, who too, fought a short but brave fight against cancer. The passing of these two people have forever changed and shaped my life. They have left a huge impact on me and I will never be the same without them both here. We cannot continue to let our loved ones succumb to these diseases.
The money raised for this specific race will benefit "Legacy of Hope" - a cancer charity which benefits research in the local Philadelphia region. Please help donate and support this charity.
I thank you all in advance for your support financially. I also would like to thank all of my friends that I have met through Jason's passing - never would I have imagined having a group of people in the endurance community supporting me and challenging me to run. thank you!!!
