When I heard the total distance of the walk/run was 137 miles, my eyes glazed over. I thought five days? Pfffth I can do it in three. But I needed to start carb loading now. Then I was told I could only do one leg of 13.7 miles (you know lawyers). Being a distance runner who’s running app handle is “Gazelle of the Snails” it could be why they said one leg only. But there is always next year. But in all seriousness my teen sons have been camp counselors and I have volunteered to man a grill to help out at Camp SMILE for the past two years. Each time I have participated I have enjoyed the experience of hearing and seeing joy by the campers’. I know my boys have as well. I am looking forward to doing my part in the Miles for SMILEs walk. So, please help me help UCP’s Camp SMILE by donating to the “Miles for SMILEs” campaign. This camp is a four week, five day adventure for more than 300 children and adults with disabilities. I want to do my part to provide a source of funds to allow as many people as possible to attend.
