Dear Friends, I am writing to you today on a personal note, heartbroken, on behalf of my small country that has been wrecked by a disaster. As you might have seen in the news yesterday, Lebanon has been rocked by a massive explosion that caused the death of more than 150 people and injured more than 5000 others. A lot are still missing! The explosion is said to be comparable to Hiroshima. The help that the Lebanese families and children need today is immeasurable. The few pictures that I attach show only some of the tragedy. I am humbly asking you today for your help. Together, we can try to alleviate, as much as possible, some of the grief and pain there with just a donation. I have been working with a charity in Lebanon that I fully trust, through an organization operating under 501(C)(3) of internal Revenue Code, which will transfer your tax deductible to the charity “Kelna Aayleh” (We are all Family) in Lebanon.
ALPI is a US-based nonprofit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping the less fortunate people in Lebanon with basic needs and healthcare support by providing medicine, food, clothing, shelter, education, and more through "Kelna 3ayleh" (We're all family). Before this disaster, ALPI was raising money to deliver monthly boxes of food through Kelna 3ayleh, a Lebanese nonprofit, to families in need in Lebanon during the pandemic. Now, Kelna 3ayleh will be focusing its efforts on aiding the disaster relief services in Lebanon after the devastating explosion that occurred on Tuesday, August 4th. Your generosity is needed now more than ever. 100% of your donations will be used towards providing urgent medical support, emergency food and shelter, and disaster relief clean-up.
