My 4th grade daughter Lily goes to school in Los Angeles called Crossroads. It's a place where people send their kids because they want them to SEE the wrongs and injustices in the world and CHANGE them to rights. My daughter is lucky that she gets to go to a school at all. Lily met her 5th grade buddy Meazi at Crossroads when she was in kindergarten. Meazi and her brother Melese were adopted by my friend Julie from a village in Ethiopia, where they had no school and no books. Meazi and her family decided they wanted to create a school. This was 8 years ago! Now, the Kololo school educates and feeds 350 students in grades k-4. In addition to the education, the children are fed 3 times per week. For some of the children, this is the only meal they have all day. For each child to attend this school, the cost is approximately $160 per year. Our goal is to raise $50,000.
