"On June 22 nd , I will head out on a 30-mile backpacking trip in Yosemite National Park. Over 4 days, I will hike from Tuolumne Meadows to Yosemite Valley via Vogelsang Pass. Backpacking in Yosemite has been one of my adventure goals since I first visited the park over 10 years ago. This will also be my longest backpacking trip to date.
I am teaming up with The Cairn Project to raise $2,500 to expand outdoor opportunities for young women and girls. Growing up, I had the privilege of having access to all types of outdoor adventures. Despite having access, I struggled to gain the confidence to start backpacking, especially as a youngwoman. My backpacking adventures have been such a gift, especially for my confidence and mentalhealth. I love the opportunity to slow down, be in the moment, and carry only what is necessary. I am excited to join The Cairn Project to bring awareness to the lack of accessibility and diversity in the outdoors for young women and to raise funds for organizations that support getting more youngwomen and girls in the outdoors – no matter what kind of adventure they choose." - Lauren
