I am proud to say I am a stroke survivor! At the age of 27 I suffered a stroke due to a congenital heart defect called a Patent Foramen Ovale. I was lucky enough to have amazing support to help me through that time, and I managed to come back stronger than I was before. As great as the support was, for someone my age it was hard to find a group of people that could understand exactly what I was going through, and how I felt. I hope this page can bring support to someone else that was in a similar situation, as well as bring awareness to heart disease and stroke. National Wear Red Day and Go Red For Women are why more than 670,000 women have survived heart disease and stroke since 2004. Please join me in raising awareness and funds for this great cause!
