Last summer, I was able to attend Camp Discovery and it changed my life as a wheelchair user. For the first time since my injury a year prior, I felt like I belonged. Most people who sustain spinal cord injuries are men, and I had been searching for women to relate to. I found that and more at Camp Discovery. Not only did I learn tips and tricks of the trade, but I also gained some lifelong friends out of the deal. I was able to try so many sports and activities I've missed since being in a wheelchair, and I could do it in a comfortable environment where everyone else was learning, too. Camp Discovery boosted my confidence as a wheelchair user and gave me they drive to live my dreams!
I have the opportunity to go to camp again this summer, but I need your help! I'm looking to raise $1500 (or more!) for Camp Discovery and The Cycle of Hope so that I can continue growing as a person and woman wheelchair user, and that other women might get the chance to do so, too.
