Last year was my first time playing in the Capital Cup. I really enjoyed the camaraderie and competition of this well organized and worthwhile event. Doug Bergman, CEO of UCP, caddied for me on the last day of the event in 2019. Besides Doug helping me with numerous golf strategies, we also discussed what UCP means to me.
Individuals with developmental disabilities are some of the nicest people in the world. These individuals, and the ones that care for them, are why UCP exists. Admiring both groups tenacity to nuture and teach one another how to survive, is the reason I strive to raise money for UCP. During this current pandemic, their lives have been changed, just like you and me. Because of UCP, and the money we raise, hopefully they will feel minimal disruption in their lives.
Today, UCP is our area’s largest non-medical provider of services to children and adults with autism and their families. UCP Clients current participation is: 49% have autism, 28% intellectual disability, 12% Down syndrome & epilepsy and 10 % cerebral palsy. Please help me by supporting UCP of Sacramento and Northern California and the wonderful people they serve!
