Lane K. Johnson, age 15 died from suicide on June 6, 2018. He was born and raised in Wenatchee. Attended St. Paul’s Elementary from pre-school through 5th grade. At Pioneer Middle School he participated in football and wrestling. As a freshmen at Wenatchee High School, he enjoyed classes and was particularly drawn to his photography class which was a new challenge. He was on the Panther junior varsity golf team where he made new friends on the course.
Lane was passionate about filming with his go-pro and enjoyed posting on Youtube. Building gaming computers from the component level up was a personally rewarding endeavor. He enjoyed a multitude of activities including skiing, youth hockey, water skiing, tubing and the youth golf program. Time spent at Lake Chelan with the family boating was always a highlight. For the last two years he volunteered handing out ice cream bars to the participants in the Apple Blossom Youth Parade. When at home his cat (Sheri) was a constant companion.
Lane will always be remembered by his classmates, teachers, friends and family for the ever-present smile and his kindness to all. He had a gentle demeanor with a subtle sense of humor.
Donations to the Campaign will benefit Active Minds, a nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for students and young adults ages 14-25.
