What happens when Lakeshore has to cancel events? You miss out on quality, faith-based programming, time apart, and the opportunity to be in community together. We know you have been waiting all year for this.
It’s quiet here. It’s strange. It’s sad.
The office is bustling to change plans, reschedule groups, and maintain camp. The site is empty, but the work doesn’t stop. Everyone prepares for the time we can all get back together, and we hope that time is June 8.
Life-changing moments happen at camp, like when a camper named John feels God’s presence for the first time and understands what it means to be loved by God. Campers like Elizabeth learn to swim at the pool with the encouragement of her counselors and cabinmates, and she is proud of facing her fear of water. We love moments like these. It is why we are here.
It is why we can’t wait to get back together soon. In the meantime, we hope you can join us as we prepare for reopening. This pandemic has had quite a financial impact on camp. After all, all of the work we do is based on being together.
#GivingTuesdayNow kicks off a fundraising effort throughout the month of May that will enable Lakeshore to continue doing the work we love to do when we reopen.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 during #GivingTuesdayNow to start off the campaign. If we can’t be together, let’s join together. Can we count on you today?
