Come January, the dedicated athletes of the LOHS Softball team will brave the elements of the Pacific Northwest to begin their team training. Together with their coaches they will practice up to five days a week, often in bone chilling rain, to improve their skills and compete at the highest level.
Every year, these hard working girls forego a traditional spring break to stay home and participate in a local tournament. The tournament is instrumental to the the team and coaches; allowing them to hone their skills as they prepare for upcoming league games.
For the first time ever, this team of girls has the opportunity to get out of the rain and travel to Anaheim California and participate in the Savanna Showcase. While the girls will still be working and training hard, this tournament will provide the following opportunities:
* Build valuable relationships with one another and their coaches
* Play in a favorable climate
* Play against competitive high school teams they haven't encountered
* Have fun! by allowing a more traditional spring break experience, including a visit to Disneyland
* Allow their families an opportunity to come along
We are asking for the help of our family, friends and community to fulfill this goal. The first $3,000 raised will go directly toward the cost of the entire team’s 2019 travel including: airfare, hotel and meals. All additional funds raised will be placed in a restricted account for use in future travel tournaments. While we hope to make this a biennial event, if we are successful in our fundraising, it is possible to participate in a travel tournament yearly! Please consider a donation in any amount. Every $10, $20, $50 or $100 will get us closer to our goal!
Laker Softball is a 501(c)3 non-profit comprised of dedicated athletes and parents focused on the success of the Lake Oswego High School softball program. All donations are tax deductible.
