Thanks for visting my personal fundraising page for this organization that I support wholeheartedly. Lake Erie Labrador Retriver Rescue League has placed countless dogs in their forever homes. If your love for dogs is as strong as mine this organization is one you should support.
May 5, 2019 I'm running the PGH Half Marathon for a cause, helping raise funds for an independent organization, Lake Erie Labrador Retriver Rescue League (LELRR for short), who help Labrador Retrievers find their forever home.
Why do I LOVE Labs so much? I'm glad you asked.... there are so many reasons. I'll share my very own personal ones.
When I was a kid I grew up with a black Lab, she would do anything with me. Swim in the pool, go for walks, play dress up, play chase and most importantly gave me unconditional love. She was the perfect companion.
As an adult I adopted a yellow lab in 2004. Hermione was 1ish years old and FULL of energy. She had no training when I brought her in my life, not even housebroken. She loved to learn. It was amazing the skills she learned daily. She loved life in this carefree way that was infectious. We went for walks, that turned into runs, that developed into hikes discovering things in nature together. In 2009 I adopted a black lab mix. Hermione & Kiwi became instant pals and their bond was beautiful to watch.
I feel labs are a perfect family pet because they are so vestatile. For example, me who is active, loves nature in all weather, likes to chill at home and also be around all age groups, my labs would do all these and adapted to all their surroundings quickly. The lab fur coat adapts to summer heat, rain, snow and cold weather. My labs were fantastic with kids of all ages and loved my cats through the years.
LELRR is volunteer based and their love for labs is just as deep as mine. Please help me raise funds for the labs by clicking donate now.
Let's learn about their organization....
About Lake Erie Labrador Retriever Rescue Inc: LELRR is an independent, 501c3 organization made up of a group of volunteers who are dedicated to the rescue and re-homing of homeless Labrador Retrievers. LELRR responds to requests for help from shelters, private owners, etc. by placing the dog into foster care. LELRR do not maintain a shelter, all dogs are places in foster care while their forever home is found. This allows the dog to maintain, or regain, its confidence as a household pet.
