My ArtPop Street Gallery Experience
When people ask me about living in the Charlotte, NC area, I tell them I love it. Not because I moved here sight unseen in 1997 after hearing glowing reviews, or because our area boasts tons of great natural areas, wonderful activities, restaurants, galleries, museums, and a more. I tell them I love the area because I know that our area is home to a thriving creative population. I know that organizations in our area are focused on supporting professional artists and making art more accessible to our area's residents. I know that there are solid, community-minded art-centered goals toward which a huge number of people are working - and I know that as a two-time ArtPop Street Gallery artist, I get to be a part of that effort while also being supported as a creative professional.
YOU Can Experience ArtPop Street Gallery TOO!
To be an ArtPop Street Gallery artist is to realize the depth and reach of your life as a creative worker who positively contributes to the greater health of an area, city, and community. With access to the arts as the central focus for many arts organizations, putting artists' work on billboards, news stands, digital billboards and other available spaces answers the call for city and community enhancement often posed by city and business leaders. The bottom line is that the arts are good for communities, businesses, and individuals in so many ways. ArtPop is a huge part of this. If you're an artist, consider applying to ArtPop!
YOU Can SUPPORT ArtPop Street Gallery!
Not an artist? You can still contribute to our area's cultural economic health by supporting ArtPop Street Gallery! Let's do this together! My goal is to raise no less than $500 for ArtPop Street Gallery.
I also publicly challenge my fellow 2019 ArtPop Street Gallery artists to create their own campaigns through the ArtPop Street Gallery Crowdrise site: https://www.crowdrise.com/ArtPopStreetGallery
Funds raised through my campaign and those of my fellow ArtPop Street Gallery artists will go to ArtPop to help support the following aspects of the program:
$500 will purchase one artist billboard vinyl for an entire year.
Donations of $10 or more will help ArtPop Street Gallery purchase the vinyls for our cities billboard programs, provide scholarship dollars to our juried in Senior High School students on their transition to study the arts in college as well as help us to provide the business of art course by ArtistsU.
Providing our artists with both an advertising platform of billboards, newsstands, airports and more as well as education to serve our mission and commitment to promoting local artists works and making art accessible to communities through available media space. Opportunities for pop up gallery community engagement shows.
