I‘m on a mission to promote Autism Awareness as I’m doing one of the things I love to do “Running the LA Marathon“ This year I’ll be pushing 26.2 miles with my heart since I took a big falling during my training about 6 months ago, I’m at this point recovering from injuries on my shoulder and recently discovered I have osteoarthritis on my knees, probably from all the 40 years of running, but despite that, I’m determined to accomplish my goal and to help others affected by Autism!
This will be my 9th consecutive year running along with TRAIN4AUTISM and my 14th LA Marathon. Every year I Run the LA Marathon I create a new story, a new experience. Last year as I was on the road with my smile from ear to ear, high fiving and thanking the expectators, one man gave me a very strong high five, I thanked him, and he said to me “NO, thank you for what you do” and he pointed out the the TRAIN4AUTISM logo from my shirt! That really touched my heart because even though that’s all he said I saw a young boy standing next to him, and even though I don’t like to assume, I believe that was his kid that perhaps is in the spectrum. Nevertheless, I have my own story by being the mom of two young men diagnosed with Fragile X Syndrome-Autism and I know how challenging life is when parenting kids with special needs. So, my mission is to help others by fundraising and promote Autism Awarenes, please help me reach my goal and give a little, my heart and soul will be forever grateful!
My happy feet and my crazy smile are getting ready to conquer 26.2 mile!
Yours,
LaCorredora
