"Victory Flights for Veterans" aboard Ike’s Bird
This 1955 Aero Commander L-26B named Ike’s Bird was used by the President Eisenhower administration. It is the smallest plane ever to use the call sign Air Force One. Today, this airplane serves a very important purpose - to fly veterans in a former presidential aircraft as a way of saying, thank you for your service. Victory Flights For Veterans is a new program that provides free aircraft rides for veterans who are mobility challenged.
This aircraft and the Victory Flights For Veterans program is open to all veterans, but is especially focused on those that don’t have the financial or physical capability to ride on our other World War II airplanes. Please join us in honoring our veterans with this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
