The Prince Hall Masonic Lodge or “The Temple” is a place I have known since I was a young boy. Many family functions I attended as a child were at the Temple. It has always provided me with a sense of family, community and purpose. My family is a Masonic Family and so many of us have worked in that building for generations.
Early Christmas morning, The Temple suffered a horrific fire destroying the 100 year old building located at 883 Eddy Street in Providence. While this is a significant loss for our lodges and chapters, it is an even greater loss for our community. Our facility was one of a handful of affordable venues that families on the Southside of Providence could go for birthday celebrations, quinceaneras, anniversaries and to gather during the time of loss of a loved one.
Since 2002, I have been a member of this amazing organization. Currently, I am the Grand Senior Warden of the Grand Lodge. We will bring our organization and facility back to the prominence once known, restore partnerships with labor and community groups, and hope you are part of the effort. The Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Rhode Island hopes you will consider assisting us in this massive effort to rebuild, and to continue our assistance to the community struggle by making a donation today.
Every gift helps regardless of size.
Thank you in advance!
