The Feeding America network of food banks provides food to people struggling with hunger across the country. Two of the groups most impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic will be children and older adults. Without access to meals at school and in community groups children and older adults may lose a consistent source of healthy food.
According to Feeding America, food-insecure children and senior citizens are likely more susceptible to COVID-19 due, in part, to inadequate healthy food, adequate healthcare, lower resistance or compromised immune systems, stigma or bias, or lack of information about proper prevention and care.
Feeding America coordinates distribution of food to food banks across the country, including Kutak Rock communities. To ensure senior citizens and children continue to have access to food, many food banks are already distributing emergency food boxes in homes, at senior centers, and in partnership with local school districts.
To meet this increased demand, KutakCares asks you to consider supporting Feeding America in the critical work they’re doing for our most vulnerable citizens.
