Konner was born with a heart condition called transposition of the great arteries. His two main arteries to and from his heart were essentially backwards. Hours after birth he had a balloon septoplasmy where they inserted a balloon into his heart and tore a hole between the two chambers so he was able to survive. At 5 days old Konner had open heart surgery. It was the scariest time in our lives. We named him Konner because it means strong willed and he definately is that. He has been tough thru everything and he is the light of our lives. Today he is a vivacious 4 year old with so much spunk. You would never know he was a heart patient and we are so grateful for that.
