The Koinonia Foundation has always been savvy in adapting. We adapt sports, social events, arts and crafts, music and movement and several other activities to make our programs accessible for anyone of any ability. We have always been there to provide unique, needs-based programs for individuals with disabilities by holding our annual camps and monthly We Adapt programs.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, we have been forced to test our skills of adaptation. To find a way to make our programs even more accessible. To provide at-home adapted recreational activities for our participants. To utilize technology to be together…apart. And while we are still unsure what our camp seasons and We Adapt programs will look like in the coming months, we are dedicated to continuing to be there for our camp friends and family. Whether it’s yoga, art, trivia, science experiments or dance, we are going to find a way to continue the fun….virtually! We also know that certain things will never be the same.
With all the adapting comes an increase in operational needs. We need to acquire the technology to become completely ‘contactless’ when our camp programs can be held in-person again. We need supplies to help maintain social distancing. We need manpower to oversee a healthy and safe environment.
We cannot do it without your help. Please consider donating to help us reach our goal and continue to adapt! Every dollar donated has the potential to be matched by a handful of very generous corporate donors! Help us maximize that generosity by clicking the link below and donating any time from September 21-September 25.
