As many of you know, Knox started playing sled hockey last year at the age of 4! He joined Colorado Sled Hockey's Youth Team and played for a good part of the season until he had his rotationplasty surgery in March. While we were away, his team won the 2019 USA Hockey Youth Sled National Championship!
This year, we are excited that Knox will be able to play the whole season and perhaps even travel to out-of-state tournaments. Knox loves playing sled hockey, and it is awesome that even if he isn't yet able to walk after his surgery, he can still play hockey!
So, to support Colorado Sled Hockey, Knox will be participating in the 2019 Colfax Marathon this Saturday. He will be walking the 5K course using his walker, Blueberry Cheetah.
Colorado Sled Hockey provides coaching, gear, ice time, travel and more to its athletes, and therefore has significant fundraising needs. The Colfax Marathon is one of the organization's biggest fundraisers, and we are happy that Knox is able to participate!
We know many of you have recently supported our family during Knox's surgery, and we couldn't be more grateful. Please note that all of the money Knox raises in this 5K goes directly to the Colorado Sled Hockey organization.
Thank you for considering to support this wonderful nonprofit!
