We all know that something is seriously not right in the world. Most of us understand that the divisiveness we have broadcast at us 24x7 is not the right direction to head. We know that the growing inequality in all things will further destabilize us and only create greater disruptions to our lives. Some few may understand the depth of injury already done by this continuing campaign of dividing us so that a few can flourish. What nobody understands it the path out of this, we hope upon hope that somebody will fix it. In the election cycle we hope for a political hero to step forward, which is much of Bernie Sanders appeal and success. With a little perspective we can see the fallacy of that hope, in fact the delusion of any hope built on someone saving us from ourselves. This is the stark reality of what we face. And the only way forward is for us to fix it, together.
Resilient Ecosystems (RESECO) has a framework to engage with you and do just this, one person, one community, one are, one region at a time, proving the model and creating Resilience, Security, Opportunity, and a powerful engine for change built on a foundation of committed people rowing in the same direction. YOU!
RESECO will use this funding to drive the Kitsap Resiliency Project and to continue developing the foundation of a resilient Kitsap. We will continue to drive several programs that create the basis for real food security, power security, connected communities and sustainable economic growth, driven by local industry. We will increase our outreach and even create a few jobs in the process.
It starts with building a map of local neighborhoods, creating neighborhood leadership and representation. It grows from there to growing engaged and connected communities, providing guidance, training, and information. Core leadership forms and a grassroot network emerges with a focus on developing a resilient community. Reviews are made of community needs and what infrastructure is currently in place. Decisions are made and the communities mobilized to address shortfalls and increase capacity, security, and quality of life. Along the way local industry is created, jobs, direct, and indirect. Food is produced locally in quantity and quality to provide local markets, power is a distributed model, locally produced, and the face of community changes, becoming a beacon for other communities! This beacon, a replicable model, will also attract likeminded businesses to your area, and growth happens in a resilient manner, all the parts interconnected and inter-supportive.
While all donations are welcome and will have our full gratitude, we are hoping that 2400 people will be willing to subscribe at $20 per month providing us with the ability to pursue this project without interruption and hire the resources we need to get the job done efficiently. More is certainly better and all funds raised beyond the need of the organization will be used to further the project and even provide seed funding for projects we have not yet identified, and that you will likely bring to the table.
While we believe that the work we do and your investment in yourself, your family, community and region is worthy of your donation, we like to both show our gratitude and have you promote the project by wearing our logo proudly. After all Resilient Communities Thrive.
