This year I am running a leg of the the Colfax Marathon Relay with my amazing KIPP Through College Team, and I've committed to trying to fundraise $250 on behalf of KIPP Colorado Schools. My teammates have said it best:
The money I fundraise will go towards new and existing programming at KIPP Colorado - a lot of the money fundraised through this event will actually go toward my team, KIPP Through College. KIPP Through College (KTC) is part of the broader KIPP approach that empowers KIPPsters and their families with the knowledge, resources, and support to climb the mountain to and through college. KIPP Colorado's KTC advisors do whatever it takes to support students and families as they navigate getting ready for, getting accepted to, and getting through college. KTC makes a commitment to any student who completes eighth grade at KIPP to support them through their time in college (whether or not that student attends a KIPP high school). KTC staff work with students and families early on to identify and apply to colleges that are a good match, and help bridge the transition from high school to college. Once a student is in college, KTC supports student persistence by helping students integrate socially and academically during college, and understand and navigate the financial hurdles that they may face on the path to graduation. Additionally, a growing number of KTC programs offer a set of career services and supports to ensure we deliver on the promises we make to our students—that they will be prepared for the competitive world. Please consider making a contribution- big or small, anything helps!
I've been with KIPP for (going on) seven years now, and have been able to see the extra time, work, and programming in action. The KIPP Through College program is something that makes KIPP as special as the students and families we work with every day.
