Sarah (Huizenga) Kinne and Pat Kinne met as Camp Fowler summer staff members in the summer of 1998. Pat had attended Camp Fowler since he was in 4th grade, and Sarah had previously attended and worked at Camp Manitoqua in the suburbs of Chicago before needing a change in scenery, which brought her to the Adirondack Mountains and Camp Fowwler. The two worked on summer staff for four summers ('98, '99, '00, and '01). Duriing the summer of '99, they began dating, and they got engaged in the summer of '01. Pat and Sarah were married at Camp Fowler in the summer of '02 surrounded by family and friends, many of whom had been on staff with them throughout the years. In the years since they were on staff, Pat and Sarah have returned to Camp Fowler for a number of retreats, Creation Celebrations, and meetings. In addition, their children are now campers, and Pat has volunteered at Fowler as a cabin counselor for many years. Pat is also a member of the Fowler Programming Committee and Board of Trustees. Pat's and Sarah's story has Camp Fowler woven throughout it and as a result, they are eager to participate in camp's 46 for 46 Fundraising Campaign to help raise funds for the much needed new showerhouses so that campers, volunteers, and visitors to Camp Fowler can have new and improved showerhouses that are environmentally friendly and provide privacy for those using them.
Pat and Sarah will be climbing two High Peaks (Cascade and Porter) to raise money for the new showerhouses this fall as part of Camp Fowler's 46 for 46 Campaign. We've pledged to raise $1000 per peak, but we need your help to reach our goal. No donation is too small! Thank you for your support of this worthy project.
