We Are More Than A Second Hand Store
Full Circle Foundation's Upscale Resale Store located in Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan, began as an endeavor to create opportunities for young adults with special needs. Over ten years that endeavor grew into a viable nonprofit organization. Before Covid 19, Full Circle Foundation operated several important programs in partnership with Grosse Pointe Public School System that supported job training for young adults with special needs. The virus has closed our schools, and our job training programs have all been put on pause. As a result, our young adults with special needs are at risk of losing valuable skills.
The programs operated by Full Circle Foundation provided many benefits to its participants. Job skill training, daily structure, and a consistent place to go each day to learn and work. Full Circle Foundation is home to two school district Community Campus classrooms where a typical school day provided the same structure and consistency for the students that attended school within our facility. Now, the school day is less than typical as parents and caretakers struggle with curriculum and how to teach while students remain at home.
Our young adults need your help to stay engaged and active. Your Go Fund Me donation will allow us to develop and distribute "Kindnes Kits" which will include materials and supplies that will provide additional activities and opportunities to practice skill development while giving back to others. You will be helping to make sure that important skills are not lost during this time while they remain at home.
Your donation will help us obtain the following items for the Kindness Kits:
· All the materials needed to create facemasks, which will be designed by our young adults and distributed free to our community partner, The Helm Life Center for their senior citizens, as well as other community members who may need them.
· Stationary and card stock to write letters and cards which will be and distributed to first responders, medical personnel and others who are helping us through this difficult time.
· Garden supplies, essential covering supplies, seeds, and plants for our Learning Garden, operated by volunteers. Once harvested, fresh vegetables will be distributed free to senior community members at the Helm Life Center, Riverview Rehabilitation North where our garden is located, other senior facilities, and families in need.
· Essential supplies and materials to be able to reopen Full Circle Foundation programs safely when the time is right.
