Hello friends and neighbors,
We hope you are doing well during this surreal and uncertain time.
Thank you for considering support for one of the many organizations working make a difference during this time. If our work resonates with you, we invite you to support in any way you can, including a donation, an instagram follow, or sharing this fundraising campaign with others.
Our mission is to address the epidemic of violence and unecessary suffering in animals and children. In honor of these most vulnerable community members, we envision a world where suffering is prevented and trauma is healed through fierce compassionate action and human animal connection. Founded by two veterinarians with extensive experience in underserved communities, we provide direct research-informed services to eliminate risk factors.
COVID has changed our access to our community, as well as our ability to fundraise, and we need to adapt. Domestic violence and animal abuse are on the rise as people are isolated, crowded and stressed.
Our goals right now are:
1. Create virtual resources to reach as many people and pet owners as possible with trauma prevention information. We have already released 5 videos and want to continue to make more.
2. Adapt our vaccination and veterinary care programs. We provide vaccines and veterinary care for the pets of victims entering domestic violence shelters. We cannot continue this work without a basic mobile unit. Funds will go to purchasing and retrofitting a used ambulance to provide these and other services during COVID and beyond, an approximately $15,000 cost plus insurance and retrofitting.
3. Adapt our humane education curriculum for teachers and parents to use through distance learning and through next year's newly organized classrooms.
Please donate if you can. If not, we still really appreciate your attention and support. Thank you so much.
As a sincere thank you, during this time of isolation, our two founding veterinarians are making themselves available for free veterinary consultations. If your veterinarian is unavailable or you aren't able to leave home, contact us (don't wait in the case of an emergency, however). If you need this service, reach out to us through the contacts on our website.
Thank you, take care and stay healthy!
