Once upon a time there was a little girl who dreamed of wanting to spread happiness in the world.  That girl grew up and became a teacher and mom who started a nonprofit called Camp Kindness Counts.  At Camp Kindness Counts our goal is to help show kids and families their true potential to make our world a Kinder, happier place for all.  Our world today is busier, we do far more today in 1 hour than we did 50 years ago.  Community is hard to find at times, do most of us know our neighbors?  Sometimes today's lifestyle can contribute to causing stress and unhappiness, especially during these times of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Unhappy people often don't feel like being very kind. How do we fix this?  How do we help support the well-being of kids and families during these challenging times?

We are human, all we need to do is use our superpowers!   We all have them.

It is not hard to do, it just takes zest, practice and people like YOU and your friends to make the decision to put Kindness in the forefront of how you lead your life!  Camp Kindness Counts is here to help you do that, we are in this TOGETHER.   We inspire and empower kids and families to practice character strengths like generosity, forgiveness and compassion through community service, enrichment classes/camps and in their daily lives at home, work and school.  When we do this, we are supporting the well-being of people and in turn communities.

With the support of UC Berkeley's Greater Good Science Center, we created the Kind World Explorers guidebooks which are filled with research informed activities to foster caring and courageous character in kids!  It not only has fun, easy activities, we also share tips and ideas on how to continue practicing the character strengths in your daily life!

We need your help.  Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic we have been unable to run any of our program.  Our staff has been affected and we are struggling to find ways to continue serving children and the community. We do not have enough funds or resources to continue the work we are doing to keep up with the desire for more kindness!  Parents, teachers, school districts, city community centers, educational companies, etc. are all reaching out to us for our resources and educational leadership during these times, but we need help to hire staff, print Kind World Explorers guidebooks, build an online learning platform and SO much more.

Please consider helping us and supporting KINDNESS in our homes, communities and world.

With Gratitude,
